This project achieved the acquisition of 190 acres in Hubbard County as part of the La Salle Lake State Recreation Area. The 190 acres includes a 40 site campground rental cabins and a indoor pool building. The 190 acres is part of the 1200 acre State Recreation Area. Lassard Sames Outdoor Heritage funds and LCCMR funds were used to purchase the other 1010 acres.

This program will protect 980-acre LaSalle Lake property adjacent to the Upper Mississippi River, with biologically-significant forest habitat and miles of deep-lake and coldwater stream shoreline, to be managed by multiple DNR divisions.

This project will enhance 68.4 acres of wildlife habitat at Lake Bella Park. The park belongs to the Okabena-Ocheda Watershed District and is open to public hunting. The existing ground cover is non-native cool season grasses with occasional forbs intermixed. Most of the area is infested with pocket gophers.

The property is bisected by the Central Lakes Trail and contains unimproved uplands, high hills, scenic vistas, small wood lots and wetlands.
