With these funds, the Society is making enriched, affordable Minnesota history training opportunities available to teachers around the state through a series of professional workshops, conferences and immersion experiences. Limited subsidies are available for lodging, mileage and substitute teacher reimbursement. Examples of teacher training opportunities and locations in FY12 and FY13 include Technology, Tools and Resources (Bemidji, Mankato, St. Paul), Historic Site Immersion (North West Company Fur Post, Pine City) and U.S.-Dakota War of 1862 (St. Paul).
