Greater Minnesota Regional Parks and Trails Commission

The Greater Minnesota Regional Parks and Trails Commission was established in 2013 to undertake system planning and provide recommendations to the legislature for grants funded by the parks and trails fund to counties and cities outside the seven-county metropolitan area for parks and trails of regional significance. The GMRPTC has created a number of tools to help Greater Minnesota Cities and Counties with their applications for Regional designation.

On the “Application” web page, several tools are displayed under the application button. For instance, tutorials on understanding the Regional designation criteria and completing the application are available. Applicants can also access a sample resolution for their Board’s or Council’s consideration.
