Creating connections with Como's animals, plants and gardens foster appreciation, conservation and preservation. Como will develop and produce fun and educational interactive performances that provide audiences with entertainment and education about animals and their natural behaviors.
This project continues water plan activities from a 2007 Clean Water Legacy grant and initiates a multi‐county project to restore hydrology and water quality in an impaired trout stream.

This project will be a complete TMDL report for the Biota and Bacteria (E. coli) impairments for the Ann River Watershed. The water bodies associated with these impairments will then be removed from the MPCA’s impaired waters list, and implementation activities to restore the water bodies will begin.

Anna Dee Olson, author of Growing Up Amishand Leaving the Amish gave a presentation on what her life was like in the Amish community as well as information on the Amish culture.
A direct appropriation of $400,000 in FY 2010 for the Anoka Conservation District (ACD) is for the metropolitan landscape restoration program for water quality and improvement projects in the seven-county metro area.

Anoka County Library sponsored a Shakespeare event with Lyric Arts Theater. Lyric Arts provided age appropriate Shakespeare programs for adults and teens. Each program included group discussion, a primer provided by Director Stephen O'Toole on the "As You Like It" production and attendance at the program.

Anoka County Library developed six art boxes containing paper, scissors, glue, paints etc. that can be used to extend storytimes or artists presentations. All nine county member libraries are able to request the boxes for their programing needs.

Anoka County Library sponsored a Fishing Clinic in Coon Rapids on May 1, 2010. The library provided participants with a notebook and pencil to record their fish stories. The project included a "return your story to the library" component where the stories would be made available online. The project was done in cooperation with the Anoka County Parks and Recreation Department.

The Ankoa Sandplain Partnership will restore and enhance 1,352 acres of priority wildlife habitat within the Sandplain and along the Rum River in the east-central Minnesota.
This program will harness the expertise, resources, and connections of a broad community of committed conservation stakeholders to significantly elevate restoration and enhancement of oak savannas (Minnesota’s most critically imperiled habitat), woodlands and forests on public lands across the region.
