Proposed Measurable Outcome(s)

Outcome 2: The play will help expand residents' knowledge of Lac qui Parle County and the people who helped form it. Outcome 3: Residents recognize the importance of visual arts in their history through reenactments of its history. Outcome 9: Regional residents gain awareness and appreciation for a variety of artistic disciplines and mediums. This play is using a technique that has never been used in plays produced in this area -- a rear projection system that will project pictures related to each part of the play instead of having traditional sets on the stage. Its success will be measured by the number of individuals who attend the play. Attendees will fill out surveys answering whether they gained knowledge of local history, increased their appreciation for theater, and found that use of projected photos enhanced the production.

Measurable Outcome(s)

The measurable outcome were the numerous comments made by attendees that they learned so much about Lac qui Parle County's history that they did not know. The attendance grew over the three days of the play due to word of mouth from those had attended previous performances. We continue to hear positive remarks from attendees and requests for a copy of the video when it is available. One of the aspects of the play that really went over well was the use of the large screen rear-projector system that allowed attendees to view the photographs with ease. With the videotaping of the play, the history of Lac qui Parle County will now be available for anyone who wishes to view it. It is planned to show it at senior living locations in the county this winter and also at the movie theater. This achieves the outcome of telling the story of Lac qui Parle County over the past 150 years and preserving it for the future.
