Proposed Measurable Outcome(s)

Creative Adventures will remove the financial barriers that keep underserved groups from participating in Art Park programs. We will track the number of youths who participate in the tours, art activities and performances provided free of charge through this program. We will also track the number of groups that receive stipends or are totally reimbursed for busing costs. 2: In 2013, Creative Adventures will provide opportunities for 700 low-income and underserved youth to participate in the arts. We will track the number of youth who participate in the Creative Adventures program. We will also track which projects and performances the groups choose for their activities.

Measurable Outcome(s)

Organizations that serve our target population were able to bring over 700 underserved youth who have had limited access to arts programming to the park in 2013. Without Creative Adventures' financial support, these 21 groups would not have been able to engage in quality arts programming. Our staff, volunteers, and participating organizations provided feedback that allowed us to evaluate our success in identifying barriers to participation. After each program, we debriefed with our staff and asked key staff members at the partner organizations to complete an online survey to evaluate the quality of the experience, any problems encountered, the impact of the field trip and recommendations for the future. We considered the program a success when participating organizations were interest in coming back for further enrichment, and when our contacts let us know that they would not have been able to participate in our arts education without this grant. 2: Following a program assessment of the previous years' Creative Adventure program, we determined that in order to provide a high quality program for all visiting groups, we needed to limit the number of groups attending the park as well as assure that the group sizes were kept manageable enough for our tour guides and teaching artists. This limitation improved our ability to offer the highest quality experience to all participants without overloading the guides and artists with more students than they could handle at one time. We found that although we were no longer marketing this program to any group, we were still receiving inquiries regarding available space in the program as well as how a group would qualify to be a participant. We were redirect those groups who did not qualify for the program towards a better fitting enrichment activity. We also found that some of our past groups were unable to attend this year so we were able to bring on a few new groups into the program.
