Proposed Measurable Outcome(s)

The number of Minnesotans who are able to participate in the arts increases. The quality, types and number of arts opportunities in our region, and the organizations or venues that offer them increases. New relationships with members of groups that have traditionally been underserved by the arts or by the applicant organization are built. The number of Minnesotans who are engaged in arts education and learning opportunities increases. The quality and types of arts education and learning opportunities in our region, and the organizations or venues that offer them increases. The marketing contractor is responsible for seeing that the survey gets printed and placed in programs for plays. They are responsible for doing the compilation of results. We use the results in determining marketing strategies. This past year, we also offered an opportunity for patrons to complete the survey online, though not many did so. A successful effort launched last year to use an incentive to encourage completion and return. For those events at which that was used, the turn-ins were greatly improved.

Measurable Outcome(s)

For the few events at which we had a live audience, we did provide the survey. For virtual productions, having the data to determine reach and reactions via social media comments and such was helpful. The survey, especially with reduced audience levels, was helpful in knowing what reach marketing had; what is the patron demographic so that future planning takes that into consideration, as well as opinions about the venue that can guide in making decisions as to productions and bookings.
