Proposed Measurable Outcome(s)

Target audiences include participating artists and youth and adults in attendance. Impacts sought include a positive change in artists’ professional abilities and financial gain, increased youth participation in the arts and improved attitude toward the arts and their heritage, and increased community understanding and awareness of racial differences.Staff will gather festival feedback from artists at an artists’ meeting following the festival. The impact on youth interest and participation in the arts will be monitored through the schools following the festival. The impact the festival has had on awareness and understanding of racial differences will be measured during feedback sessions at community meetings and via a survey mailed to attendees. The increase in artist participation in the Entrepreneur Program and Buyers Day will be monitored and evaluated.

Measurable Outcome(s)

The community became aware of the participating artists and their products. The artists were able to keep improving in the area of pricing, product packaging, inventory management, record keeping, and marketing. Of the 22 youth surveyed, 11 were not artists but were inspired by the festival to become artists and of the 2 youth who said they were artists but not currently producing, the festival inspired them to become an active artist again. Of the 101 adults surveyed 28 were artists, 17 were currently producing products and seven were encouraged by the festival to start producing again. 84 of the respondents said they purchases gas, food, or lodging while they were here for the festival.
