The goal is to create a public art piece highlighting the natural environment and culture of this region while bridging racial, generational, and cultural gaps through the experience of creating art together.Pre and post surveys will be given to mural class participants designed to capture data on skills and knowledge gained and changes in attitude and awareness about art and nature. The instructor will note interactions among participants and chart over the course of the class whether participants are broadening their interactions across racial, gender, and generational lines. Written responses will be solicited from public viewers at the unveiling to measure the success of the project in the publicÆs eye.
