Proposed Measurable Outcome(s)

The quantity and types of arts learning opportunities in the state, and the organizations or venues that offer them increases. Arts learning opportunities are more accessible to Minnesota because barriers to participation have been identified and mitigated. More Minnesotans are engaged in arts learning opportunities.

Measurable Outcome(s)

1. Our high school students and community members had access to arts experiences including theater workshops with professional actors, theater productions, writing workshops, Spoken Word performances, and Slam Poetry competitions that would not have been accessible without this grant. Students had the opportunity to express themselves in new and powerful ways that opened them to new opportunities and possibilities that may have otherwise been missed. 2. Our intended outcomes were measured through student involvement in activities, verbal surveys and discussions with classroom teachers leading up to and following the arts experiences, and student feedback in both written and/or verbal form. 2: 1. All events and activities made possible through this grant were available to students during the school day and were free of charge. These arts experiences were not prohibited due to economic or geographic barriers. 2. This was evaluated simply by refusing to conduct any of these arts experiences outside of our regular school day. Doing so would have immediately created a barrier for many of our students who would not have had transportation to and from events held outside of school hours. We also made sure every promotion for events made clear that there was no cost for participation.
