The majority of participants report at least one benefit from creating art (e.g., increased understanding, confidence, knowledge, etc.). Participants will take a pre-survey at the beginning of the program and a post-survey at the end, which will measure increased knowledge, understanding, and skills in the arts such as goals achieved in creating, performing, and response. 2: Participants report meeting at least one of their stated goals (e.g., increased skills in the art form, performance/creative expression, etc.). As a result of this project, 100% of participants were able to participate in arts learning opportunities that had previously not been available to them. 100% of participants reported at least one benefit from creating art: 79% had increased confidence in creating art; 81%/67% wanted to learn more about the art forms they had engaged in and other art forms, respectively; 86% were more physically/mentally active; and 88% had an improved mood. We measured outcomes through a pre/post survey method by administering a pre-survey to participants during the first session of arts learning and then administering a post-survey at the end. We then compared/analyzed results from these two surveys. Wilder mitigated barriers to participation by providing arts activities at accessible locations, providing transportation when needed. Wilder staff also trained teaching artists how to cater arts activities to participants with varying abilities and physical challenges, including memory loss. 2: As a result of this project, 225 older adults with early/late-stage memory lossand other mental and physical limitationsengaged in arts learning opportunities. These older adults are also primarily low-income, and have few opportunities for engaging in the arts community without the arts learning opportunities offered by Wilder. 100% of participants achieved at least one of the goals they set for themselves at the beginning of the project. Specific results/achievements include: 78%/75% obtained increased knowledge of and increased skills in the art forms/disciplines, respectively; 78% expressed themselves in a creative way; 81% had an increased appreciation of the art forms/disciplines; and 87% socialized with others.
