As a result of this program, EGF Concert Choir members will work directly with a composer to create an original piece of music on the topic of climate change, which will foster dialogue and learning among the students and the audience they perform for. Evaluation will occur through questionnaires completed by the teaching artist, participants, and audience members asking them to respond to the new art and its subject matter of climate change; numbers will be tracked to estimate project reach.
As a result of this program, EGF Concert Choir members worked directly with a composer to create an original piece of music, which engaged students and audience members on the topic of climate change. While not all participants were moved to direct action, many responded that they were inspired by the work and had an emotional response to it. Performance of original and timely works such as this keep this pressing issue at the forefront and lead to additional conversations surrounding the topic.
