Proposed Measurable Outcome(s)

The goal of this program is to increase the quantity and types of arts learning opportunities for youth. Each student will be asked to anticipate the experience through a writing assignment prior to attending the theater. Afterwards, the students will reflect on the experience, what they learned, and their likes and dislikes of the experience as a whole. The students enrolled in English 10 will also compare and contrast the movie versus the play.

Measurable Outcome(s)

Students discussed the experience after the trip and demonstrated knowledge that was obtained through prior instruction as well as the theater experience. Our students demonstrated their understanding of the prior instruction in terms of theater etiquette through their behavior at the play and later at the restaurant. Many people we interacted with that day remarked on how well behaved and polite our students were.
