Arts Tour Minnesota

Minnesota professional artists and arts organizations have more opportunities to tour their work throughout the state. Minnesota professional artists and arts organizations tour to communities and regions they haven’t previously visited. More community and nonprofit organizations become involved in presenting touring artists and arts organizations.
More Minnesotans were exposed to the arts because of this tour. Many Minnesotans who had not attended a symphony orchestra before were able to participate. We engaged artists in at least six additional services (concerts and rehearsals), thus providing more opportunity for artists in Minnesota. We interviewed community members and musicians and guest artists in all of these programs. All were able to articulate that the arts are interwoven into every facet of community life. Through the Arts Tour grant we were able to bring the symphony orchestra experience to diverse audiences in four greater Minnesota small communities; Virginia, Hibbing, Two Harbors and Cloquet. We performed in auditoriums in each of these high schools and we were able to reach students and adults. Many music students attended with their parents. Minnesotans believe the arts are vital to who we are. In two of our concerts (Virginia and Two Harbors) our Young Artist Competition winner performed and so did Jazz Violinist Randy Sabien. Randy talked about how great it is to have young people performing and spoke of his experiences growing up with music and now making music his career. 2: We were able to reach out to new communities and different venues in these communities where symphonic music is not regularly performed.
Other, local or private
