The grant would be used for the printing costs of publishing a book of short stories I have written. I have published award winning books by other writers in the past, but only once published a small book (50 pages) of solely my own writings (and that book was a finalist in the NEMBA awards for 2015). This grant would allow me to pay the printing costs for publishing a much larger book of short stories that reflect my many years of living in Duluth, and how this has shaped me as an artist and writer. I will provide an opening event for the publication of this book at my gallery, and in the Twin Cities.
