Jr. Zookeeper Program
The Jr. Zookeeper Program provides youth between the ages of 11 and 17 the opportunity to learn aobut and actively participate in daily operation of the zoo and engage in activities that involve animal husbandry, environmental conservation and community outreach. Students will gain knowledge and experience working with animals, initiating and implementing conservation projects and participating in public animal programs. The program will pay for program fees usually charged to participants that might otherwise restrict their ability to participate in the program.
The mission of the Pine Grove Zoo is to promote environmental education and conservation while creating a progressive zoological park in Central Minnesota. The mission of the Education Department is to present educational programs for all ages, build partnerships with area schools and provide interpretive information throughout the Pine Grove Zoo in order to build understanding and respect for nature and wildlife.
