Proposed Measurable Outcome(s)

Survey: Survey results will show most respondents will answer these questions in the affirmative:"Has Centerstage MN woven art, culture and history more strongly into your life?""Does Centerstage MN help arts, culture and history thrive in MN?""Have interviews on CSMN encouraged you to buy books written by MN musicians?" Facebook/online reach: KAXE will post links to "best of"  audio segments online at least twice per month. They can track the number of impressions, or reach, of each FB post and the number of visits to the Centerstage MN page on our website.Broadcast audience estimate: This will estimate the broadcast audience for the program according to placement in the schedule, fundraising response, etc.Compare program participant demographics to census data in our region: KAXE will keep a by-program list of musicians and musician/essayists who partipate in the program and compare it to demographics from the area to be sure that everyone is fairly represented.Fiscal audit: The organization will assure fiscal responsibility through a clean audit that fairly represents the finances of Northern Community Radio.List of other desired program outcomes: Each program will keep a playlist that includes music and musicians, other content (history features, a feature about instruments, songwriting features, books, etc)Artist feedback: KAXE will collect notes, email, etc, and ask producers to report informal feedback from musicians about the impact of the program.

Measurable Outcome(s)

- Online survey:

Does Centerstage MN help the arts, culture and history thrive in Minnesota? 95% of survey respondents said yes, 5% no

Has Centerstage MN woven art, culture and history more strongly into your life? 85% of survey respondents said yes, 15% no

Have interviews on Centerstage MN encouraged you to buy books by Minnesota musicians? 50% of respondents said yes, 50% no

Have you heard something on Centerstage MN that led you to attend a live performance or buy music by a Minnesota musician? 76% yes, 24% no

- Facebook reach: There have been 17 Facebook posts for Centerstage MN. The greatest reach of the posts were:
712 Sam Miltich interviewing Charmin Michelle
593 Interview with Eric Pollard of Actual Wolf
499 mini documentary with Alan Sparhawk/Gaelynn Lea from Murder of Crows
395 Interview with the band Four on the Floor
363 Interview with Martin Zellar, founder of the Gear Daddies

- Broadcast audience estimate: 2,400 per broadcast. This program airs twice a week. One original broadcast and one repeat.

- Compare program participant demographics to census data in our region:
Musicians featured on Centerstage MN were 89% white, 4% American Indian, 4% African American and 2% Mixed. 47 musicians were featured.
Ages were 2% 0-19, 34% 20-30, 19% 31-40, 28% 41-50, 11% 51-60, 4% 61-70 and 2% 71-80.
63% of the musicians were male, 36% female.
In general, the program demographics are a reasonable match with the population of the area, although the musicians tend to skew younger and male. While this is not necessarily a reflection of the population of the region, it does reflect the music industry as a whole.

- Other desired program-specific outcomes: The organization plays 50% music by women musicians on the air. This is reflected in the program playlists.
