KFME - Prairie Yard and Garden
A portion of the funds allocated to Pioneer Public TV as a result of the Legacy Amendment of 2008 will be used to enhance Prairie Yard & Garden with new content focusing on the arts, history or cultural heritage associated with outdoor historic sites, hobbies, food production, horticulture and gardening in Minn. Each season Prairie Yard & Garden travels the state to meet with researchers, gardening and nursery professionals, educators and ordinary backyard gardeners to discuss specific issues in horticulture, landscaping and a host of topics in gardening. Prairie Yard & Garden is a production of the University of Minn., Morris and has grown into one of Minn.'s top resources for gardening information.
One half-hour episode focused on sculpture garden art to be produced and aired in 2012 with at least one repeat, and posted online. Tracking of web downloads, content review by Community Advisory Board.
As planned, one 30-minute episode of this long-running series focused on art. The program described the history of outdoor sculpture gardens, and how a modern artist is creating outdoor sculptures. ACHF support was used to aquire this content through Pioneers long-running partnershipwith the University of Minnesota Morris. The episode first aired as a part of the series in the third quarter of FY 2012.
