For fiscal year 2012, the state legislature appropriated $1.5 million in Arts and Cultural Heritage funds to the Minnesota Historical Society for "...partnerships involving multiple organizations, which may include the Minnesota Historical Society, to preserve and enhance access to Minnesota's history and cultural heritage in all regions of the state."

This funding has resulted in partnerships between the Minnesota Historical Society and more than a dozen other organizations and will also result in partnerships among other history-minded groups outside of the Society.

These history partnerships will help extend the reach of the Arts and Cultural Heritage Fund across the state. 2012 statewide partnership projects include:
