Project Overview
This mobile tour offers intriguing stories and reflections about historic sites along the Minnesota River Valley, the people who lived there and the lasting impact of the U.S. Dakota War of 1862. In FY16 the Upper Minnesota Valley Regional Development Commission will provide technical assistance and enhancements for the tour, including incorporating the tour and its oral histories into a new Byways Visitor Guide; updating its website to include access to the tour; conducting outreach with the Lower Sioux Community and Dakota Wicohan to develop Dakota language and perspective enhancements to the website and tour; and providing additional promotional support.

Proposed Measurable Outcome(s)
We will measure the number of unique calls into the tour; number of unique visits to the website; and number of brochures distributed. Previous focus group with tour users indicated high satisfaction with tour; increased knowledge of MN history; and change in attitude abut MN River valley history.
