Kathy retired in the fall of 2015 after working for the City of Duluth’s Parks and Recreation Department for almost 34 years in a variety of management-level capacities, the last 9 years as the department Manager. She started as the Dietitian for the Senior Dining and Home-Delivered Meals programs that were part of the department’s program offerings for seniors. She has a BA degree in Dietetics from the College of St. Scholastica (Duluth, MN) and started her career at St Luke’s Hospital before joining the City of Duluth. Her background in nutrition and wellness fit in nicely with the Parks and Recreation Department’s mission to help citizens be active and healthy. Kathy's retirement "jobs" include taking care of her 5 grandchildren and introducing them to the many benefits of parks, trails, and recreation and serving on several local non-profit boards and the GMRPTC Evaluation Team.
