ACHF Arts Access
Each year, the Meander challenges our regional artists to create new work and develop ways for them to connect with the people who tour on the Meander. 4: Regional artists expand and improve their work and the way in which they create it. The 40+ artists who are a part of Meander will learn more about their art in creating a large body of work to sell during Meander. 5: Regional artists connect to new audiences and/or build relationships that provide artistic growth. The 40+ artists who are a part of Meander will learn more about what their customers want by both conversations and by what sells. They are able to try new things in prep for the the event. A passport survey is filled out by participants to gather information about the quality and experience of the event. An artist survey is filled out after the event by the artists reporting how the event went for them, and how much they sold.
The Meander Upper Minnesota River Arts Crawl is a tour featuring just over 40 artists that leads attendees to artists' studios and galleries across ten communities over three days. Average sales per artist were up 17% percent from 2019. Total artist sales were $139,872, up almost 20% from 2019. There was an average of 513 visitors per studio, with each customer visiting an average of 10 studios, up from 2019. 48% percent of visitors had not attend the last in-person Meander and 81% plan to attend again next year. 77% of customers said the quality of the art was excellent. 80% of customers said their overall experience was excellent.
