American Indian Programming
The American Indian programming project consists of the following:
- An Exhibition highlighting objects from the museum's American Indian collection.
- A Curriculum that supports the Exhibition for teachers and students who visit as part of a school fieldtrip.
- An active Visible Lab that brings object conservation to the public.
- Digitization and inventory of hundreds of objects in the museum's Minnesota Native American Collection.
$600,000 each year is for arts, arts education, and arts access and to preserve Minnesota's history and cultural heritage, including student and teacher outreach and expansion of the museum's American Indian initiatives programs.
1. Increase interest, understanding, and knowledge of Minnesota's Native American culture. 2. Increase access to teaching resources on Minnesota's Native American culture. 3. Increase awareness and knowledge of the behind-the-scenes conservation methods to care for the objects in the museum's collection.
