WDSE - Old Turtle
WDSE will create a special behind the scenes program documenting the artistic process leading up to the staging of Old Turtle, a special symphony performance of a composition of Linda Tutas Haugen which tells the beloved children's story by Douglas Wood with illustrations by watercolorist Cheng-Khee Chee, all talented Minnesotans.

Arts and CUltural Heritage funds also made possible the production and broadcast of a half hour performance documentary which tells the story of the staging of the family musical adventure "Old Turtle." "Old Turtle" features the work of the Minnesota Ballet and the Duluth Superior Symphony Orchestra, a total of 125 musicians and dancers. The program was broadcast on June 21, 2012 and repeated an additional four times. The ballet with its original score is based on a children's book by Duluth author Douglas Wood.
