Project Overview

The Glensheen Mansion in Duluth was the scene of double homicide back in June of 1977. It was discovered that reclusive heiress Elisabeth Congdon and her nurse had been violently murdered, and cub reporter Joe Kimball just happened to be on the scene. Mr. Kimball will talk about covering the story as a reporter for the Star Tribune, and his book, "Secrets of the Congdon Mansion". This program is one of three author visits celebrating the Shakopee Library's 15 years in their current building. The series is being billed as "Fifteen Years of Fabulous".

Measurable Outcome(s)

Attendees were able to hear details about the murder and investigation that they hadn't known prior to the program. The author's conversations with the accused, and his insight into their personalities was of huge interest, and added a depth of knowledge to a sensational Minnesota murder investigation.
