Project Overview

Discover real food - the indigenous American fruits and vegetables, the wild and foraged ingredients, game and fish familiar to Native Americans in our area. Sean Sherman, the Oglala Lakota chef and founder of the Sioux Chef, will describe wild foods, how they're processed and how they've been used by the indigenous community in our part of Minnesota for centuries. This program took place at 3 locations in the LARL region over 2 days from October 11 to October 12, 2017.

Those in attendance will learn about the food traditions of the indigenous community in our part of Minnesota. They will learn about different types of foods that have been harvested and eaten here for centuries.

Surveys were collected from attendees. The program was very highly rated. Attendees were very impressed by the good presentation, the presenter's passion, and his knowledge.
