Project Overview
Nine presentations in the LARL region over three days from December 11-13, 2012 about Trans-Atlantic travel during the "Century of European Migration, 1825-1929" changed drastically during that century which brought more than 30,000,000 Europeans to America. How were the conditions onboard a slow-moving saling ship that would often take six to eight weeks to make the trip across the Atlantic Ocean? How did this change when steamships took over the saliling routes? Presentations were held at the Ada Library, Breckenridge Library, Climax Library, Crookston Library, Detroit Lakes Library, Hawley Library, Rothsay Community Center, Shelly LINK Site, and Ulen LINK Site.
