Lake Agassiz Regional Library 50th Anniversary
Lake Agassiz Regional Library (LARL) will celebrate its’ 50th Anniversary in 2011. Plans are beginning now for region-wide celebrations in each branch and LINK Sites, compiling a history of the regional library system, and focusing attention on how the library has changed over time to meet the changing needs of those the region serves.

Partner Organization(s): Local historical societies, Friends of the Library organizations, radio and television stations in the region.
Partner Organization(s) Contribution/Role in the Program: Assisting with compilation of the LARL History, hosting Open House/celebration events, providing volunteer support, and airing promotional pieces to create public awareness.
Through the creation of the LARL history and region-wide events to celebrate this milestone, citizens in the LARL region will have a better understanding, appreciation and awareness of the role the library has played in the cultural development of the region. Citizens will learn how the library system was developed and changed over a 50-year span as the lifestyles of the people changed. Those in the LARL region will become more aware of the importance and value of the library in the community.
