Project Overview

This project will feature Native American elders and Native American youth creating dialogue about growing up Native, past and present. It will increase knowledge of Native American culture and history. This program will illustrate both the struggles and positive elements the Native American youth faced in the past and what they face today. It will be a 20-30 minute monthly production. 20 programs will be produced during the course of the grant.

Proposed Measurable Outcome(s)
  • Through the public broadcast more Minnesotans of all ages, ethnicities, abilities and incomes will learn about the culture and history of the Native American youth
  • Culture and history will thrive in Minnesota. This project will present history from the eyes of an elder. It will record history and leave a legacy from the eyes of a youth
  • It will increase public knowledge and awareness of the way that history affects people’s lives and how that knowledge can help people make informed decisions for the future
