Project Overview

Environmental Voices: This 10-minute program will feature North Central Minnesota experts in the segments that will be aired throughout the year. This program is in partnership with the Leech Lake Division of Resource Management, the Leech Lake Health Division, and local experts. This program will deal with topics including forestry, land use, water quality, invasive species, plants, air quality and more. Interwoven in the program will be the Native American belief that man must protect the earth.

Proposed Measurable Outcome(s)
  • Production of 52 ten minute radio segments on the Envionmental Voices
  • This program wil increase the locally focused content produced by public broadcasting
  • Environmental Voices will give listeners the history of Native American in this area and stewardship of the outdoors and evironment which is part of the culture
  • Arts, culture, and history will be interwoven into every facet of community life
  • Create awareness of issures that were created in the past and what is being done now to preserve this pristine area of Northern Minnesota for future generations
Measurable Outcome(s)

Environmental Voices with Marie Rock is focused on topics in and around the local environments. Department of Natural Resource staff are invited in to speak on important subjects they work on. Department of resource management that came in to talk about their programs include Air quality, Water and Forestry just to name a few. 52% of survey takers like or consider this show a favorite.
