Project Overview

This program will enhance and manage approximately 110 acres of native oak woodland and oak savanna in the City of Saint Paul, within the MNRRA corridor, through invasive species removal and control, prescribed burning, and reforestation efforts. These projects will return fire to thirty or more acres of fire-adapted habitat, increase connectedness of high-quality forests, increase the probability of a self-sustaining forest community, reduce sedimentation of impaired waterbodies, and improve habitat for fish and wildlife. Project work will occur in or adjacent to fire-adapted native woodland habitat identified by the MCBS as having a high significance of biodiversity.
