Project Overview

Fee acquisition of 240 acres of primarily wetland and upland native plant communities in the Tallgrass Aspen Parkland landscape. This property is currently listed for sale with a Realtor and is at immediate threat of non-conservation use. Development of this property would adversely impact the conservation values of this property, as well as make management more difficult on the adjacent Nature Conservancy land (400 acres) and Skull Lake WMA (7,010 acres). The collaborative Tallgrass Aspen Parkland Conservation Plan ranked this tract highly because it is largely in native cover, the proximity to TNC and MN DNR lands and impact on fire management.
