Project Overview

Ten minute radio segments about the Traditional Ojibwe Plants and their uses in today's world. Minnesotans will learn more about traditional Ojbwe plants herbs and teas and how they are used for better living. The content is exclusively about local naturally grown plants and herbs. There will be ten minute segments airing weekly.

Appropriation Language

$1,600,000 each year is appropriated for a grant to the Association of Minnesota Public Educational Radio Stations for production and acquisition grants in accordance with Minnesota Statutes, section 129D.19.

Proposed Measurable Outcome(s)

Production of weekly ten minute radio segments on the traditional Ojibwe Plants and their uses in today's world.?The number of web hits and visitors. A measure of the number of Facebook impressions. This program will create a knowledge and awareness of how Native Americans used native plants for keeping healthy and healing. The history of these plants and how that knowledge can help people make decisions on how plants can help them with their daily lives in the future. This program will give Ojibwe knowledge of traditional plants to Minnesotans through public broadcasting. More Minnesotans of all ages, ethnicities, abilities, ages and incomes will participate in the use of plants, herbs and teas for better living.
