KVSC - Locavore Celebration of Local Food, Music and SCSU Common Read Program
In coordination with the university's Common Read Program, in Fiscal Year 2017 KVSC be a co-organizer of a celebration of "Keeping It Local" with food vendors, musicians, author Will Allen of the Good Food Revolution at a venue that is open to students and the community. Possibly an outdoors park venue near the campus.
$1,600,000 each year is appropriated for a grant to the Association of Minnesota Public Educational Radio Stations for production and acquisition grants in accordance with Minnesota Statutes, section 129D.19.
At least 6 vendors representing locally grown food and grassroots organizations at one larger event with music, speakers, activitiesAttendance at event of students, faculty and community membersExpanded media coverage with St. Cloud State University Media Relations, local mediaPaying talent livable wage for music/band performanceRegional author appearing and presenting at the event.
