Project Overview

A series of five five-minute segments will educate listeners about what the Fond du Lac people gained and what they lost through the treaties with the Federal Government. The segments will look at both the positive and the impact that the treaties had on hunting, fishing and gaming and more.

Treaties: What Was Gained and What Was Lost will help to interweave Native American culture and history into more facets of Native and non-Native communities.This project will help to increase locally focused content on WGZSThe project will increase knowledge and awareness of the way that history affected people's lives so they can make informed decisions in the futureMinnesotans of all ages, ethnicities and incomes will have more access to our Native American history and cultureWGZS will provide an estimated number of listeners reached through radio broadcasts, estimated number of people reached through the internet and social media as well as the number of stations that aired the segments
