Author Angela Foster presented two different workshops at two of our ECRL branches. On October 13, 2012 she presented her Writing From Real Life workshop at the Aitkin Public Library. On November 3, 2012 she presented her First Pages: Jumping Into the Story workshop at the Pine City Public Library.

Proposed Measurable Outcome(s)

Attendees at the Writing From Real Life workshop will learn how to put memories down on paper and write stories for their families and generations to come. In the First Pages: Jumping into the Story workshop attendees will learn how to hook the reader and keep them turning the pages of your manuscript.

Measurable Outcome(s)

69% of those attending the workshops thought it was excellent, while 77% would have recommended it to others. Comments from those at the workshops included: Good balance of comment and exercises; Instructor should plan better - had to skip over things; It was chock-full of useful actionable information- I will go back to my notes as needed. Thanks! Exceeded expectations!!; More breaks More advanced than I am ready for. But interesting of what I might use someday.
