Proposed Measurable Outcome(s)

Attendees will learn about her childhood in Mankato and what it was like to grow up in Minnesota 100 years ago; learn how her friends and family helped her pursue her dram of becoming a writer; learn how technology changed everyday life at the turn of the last century; and learn about the rise of the middle class in the early 1900s.

Measurable Outcome(s)

72% of those attending knew who Maud Hart Lovelace was before the program and 56% said they would like to become an author. In response to the question, "What did you like best about the presentation?" kids said the following: The hair cutting lockets!; when she was telling the story of Betsy, Tib and Tacy; I got to dress up as Mrs. Sawpaw; all the props.
