Author/Illustrator Nancy Carlson gave presentations to four first grade classes at Princeton South Elementary along with an evening presentation at the Princeton Area Library.

Project Details

A total of 278 students and adults attended both programs by Nancy Carlson on May 3 -- Princeton South Elementary School (261), Princeton Area Library (17).

Students and adults will learn about the process of writing and illustrating children’s books from a popular children’s author from Minnesota.

Measurable Outcome(s)

Princeton South Elementary School: 98.5% of students surveyed said they enjoyed the program; 66.7% of students surveyed said they would like to become an illustrator; Only 49.2% of students surveyed said they would like to become an author; 61/5% of students surveyed said their favorite part of the program was watching her draw. / Princeton Area Library: 75% of those who attended the program said it exceeded their expectations and enjoyed the author visit; 100% of those surveyed said the author visit was excellent.
