Project Overview
Stages Theater presented a theater workshop called Create a Play with Taxi Dog. Participants learned how to take the story from page to the stage. This workshop was for 7-9 year olds. Another workshop entitled Games R Us was held for ages 10+ at the Rush City Public Library and focused on theater games and exercised designed to develop acting skills. Both workshops were held on July 29, 2014.

Proposed Measurable Outcome(s)
Story drama and storytelling are effective tools to help individuals of all ages with their reading and writing skills. Participants will use a language arts curriculum that includes comprehension, interpretation, story structure and evaluation. Participants will be challenged in a positive, supportive and constructive atmosphere that will culminate in a final demonstration of skills; the program is designed to ignite imagination and further interest in theater arts.
Measurable Outcome(s)
56% of those attending said they knew about the Arts and Cultural Heritage Fund and 56% thought the program was excellent. Comments made included: Children who are shy - it helps them to be more outgoing; acting can be fun.
