MacPhail Center for Music presented two "sing, play, learn" musical storytimes at the Chisago Lakes Area Library and North Branch Area Library on May 15, 2013. The musical storytimes were interactive and hands-on, utilizing music to enhance literacy.

Proposed Measurable Outcome(s)
Attendees will learn how to explore musical concepts through songs, rhymes, instrument exploration, creative movement and dramatics. Thus utilizing music as an enhancement to literacy. Parents will learn how to engage their children in such activities to enhance their child's development and literacy skills.
Measurable Outcome(s)
82% of those in attendance felt that music should be included in storytime and 96% felt that literacy and music go hand-in-hand. Attendees also made the following comments: Nice and interactive Fast paced for the young children; What a fun time Instructor was great.
