Project Overview

KKWE Niijii’s Pow-wow Trail allows Ojibwe drum groups, dancers and other artists from the communities in the listening area to attend, display and record their art at various pow-wows throughout Minnesota. The project goal is to increase exposure of Native American culture, dance and local art across the listening area and greater Minnesota.

Proposed Measurable Outcome(s)

KKWE will track attendance at events, track the number of students involved through the school program, the number of Ampers stations that broadcast their program, track internet and social media statistics and conduct listener surveys

Measurable Outcome(s)

There are 14 Pow Wow Trails in production and 4 have been aired.

There have been 4 different drum participate, completing 7 pow-wows to date, travelling as far as Nett Lake Reservation to the North and Minneapolis to the South. 6 in school cultural drim and dance are scheduled as well.
