KQAL - KQAL.org & Social Media
KQAl.org continues to be an online extension of KQAL 89.5 FM. As technologies change and online engagement rises, it is increasingly vital that the station upgrades their website to better share and distribute Arts and Cultural Heritage programming.
The goals of the KQAL website continue to include ongoing access to locally produced Arts and Cultural Heritage programming and podcasts, community events information, video resources that augment that programming and community activity, as well as the ability for listeners to contact, interact, and share Arts and Cultural Heritage content through social media and related technologies.
KQAL will be able to provide internet and social media statistics as well as feedback and comments for listeners and participants. Another form of measurement will be number of podcasts listened to on the KQAL and AMPERS websites, plus, the number of downloads via PRX. Google and Facebook analytics will be tracked and tabulated.
Under the current Legacy grant, KQAL has produced 109, local, original programs featuring Winona’s artistic talents, cultural diversity and unique personalities that make up the local community. KQAL also provides a valued volunteer opportunity to the students. On an annual basis, 70-100 students participate in programming, promotion, news, sports & production. Paid leadership opportunities are also available for up to 7 of the student staff. Please visit updated website: http://www.kqal.org/programming/original.php
