KMSU - Live Music Events
KMSU will produce at least six live music events for the general public using Arts & Cultural Heritage funds. One event schedule for late July 2012 in Austin, MN is in collaboration with KSMQ Public Television in Austin. It is our goal to always have these concerts free to the general public. On occasion we feature musical artists from outside the state of Minnesota, but most of the concerts feature Minnesota artists. In all cases we try to feature artists that otherwise might not perform in our part of the state, either due to cost or local knowledge of the artist and their repertoire. Whenever possible, we try to arrange for a professional recording of the concert to share on the AMPERS website.
Arts, culture and history will be interwoven into every facet of community life: Live performance music is made more accessible with the KMSU Live Music Events.More Minnesotans of all ages, ethnicities, abilities and incomes will participate in the arts, culture and history: These events are produced in a variety of venues, making it possible for Minnesotans of any race, creed, color or socio-economic status to attend. People will trust Minnesota’s stewardship of public arts, culture and history funding: Virtually all grant funds go to the performing artist(s), and the costs are commensurate with the artist(s) typical performance fees.Arts, culture and history will thrive in Minnesota: Production of live performance music allows that artistic endeavor to prosper.More student exposure to professional performing arts, and the work of professional artists: Some of these events are produced at venues that are all-ages, so students can attend. More locally and Minnesota focused content. These Live Music Events are intentionally focused on Minnesota artists.More local artists, historians, writers and other that have their work showcased through public broadcasting: Whenever possible, these live performance music events are professionally recorded for broadcast at a late4r date, and subsequently archived online. How outcomes will be measured: -Attendance at events -Arbitron/Radio Research Consortium ratings information -Internet and social media statistics
