2015 Teen Lit Con
The anticipated 800 attendees will report learning about new books and authors, connecting with other readers, and learning something new about writing, publishing and/or book arts. They will also report a willingness to attend similar events in the future.
Attendance was increased by 50% with 900+ attendees. Community outreach was surpassed of 2014 with 13 bus scholarships many of which served multiple schools around the metro. Opportunities to connect with books, authors/writers, writing and other readers were increased over 2014's event. The workshops on publishing and spoken word poetry were the most popular with attendees. The book genies and the personal poetry were the hottest activities in the exhibit hall after the book signing. Attendees reports indicated that the event was an overwhelming success: 86% said they learned something new about writing; 96% were introduced to a new author whose books they would like to read; 98% would attend another author event of this type in the future.
