Proposed Measurable Outcome(s)

Children and teens will learn about art techniques from a teaching artist and make works to take home.

Measurable Outcome(s)

Students explored many art techniques including weaving, painting, drawing, and sculpting. Kids learned about turtles and their colors and experimented with color blending and sculpting tools as they made their turtles. Kids learned about kite shapes and design elements then sketched, outlined, and painted their masterpieces. It was a nice lesson in color mixing and painting techniques. Kids used paper canvases, tempura and water, sharpies and free design for kites in a sky. Good early opportunity to learn dry and wet techniques. Kids learned about the style of Georgia O'Keeffe and types of cacti then made chalk pastel drawings.
