For First Pages: attendees will learn new writing skills, attendees will be encouraged to continue their
writing, will check out related materials from the library. For Westminster Town Hall Forums, attendees
will experience talks from an nationally acclaimed authors. Attendees will have the opportunity to interact with the authors by asking questions or getting books signed.

Measurable Outcome(s)

For First Pages: 93% of adults and 93% of teens received encouragement to continue their writing. 95% of adults and 94% of teens learned a new tool to improve their writing skills or process. 71% of adults and 44% of teens have or plan to check out library materials about writing. 100% of adults and teens rated the quality of the program good or better. Selected comments:
“Happy to leave class with more ideas & encouragement.” “Thank you for your insightful comments, supportive environment & very useful prompts & writing practices.”
For Tavis Smiley Westminster Town Hall Forum: attendees experienced talk from an nationally acclaimed authors. Attendees had the opportunity to interact with the author by asking questions or getting books signed. 100% reported that the program inspired them to learn more or do more to help create communities of justice. 93% rated the quality of Mr. Smiley’s talk as good or better.
For Jennifer Lawless Westminster Town Hall Forum: attendees experienced talk from an nationally acclaimed authors. Attendees had the opportunity to interact with the author by asking questions or getting books signed. 83% reported that the program made them think differently about politics or civic engagement. 92% rated the quality of Ms. Lawless’ talk as good or better.
