Project Overview
James Hersch presented four 4-day collaborative songwriting workshops for kids entering grades 3-5. The groups composed, arranged, and recorded original music. 300 copies of the CD were made for the library to distribute. A CD release party and performance with the children was held.

Children will learn about creating music and will be able to listen to the music that they created for years to come.

Measurable Outcome(s)

Children worked together to create original music and lyrics. Children were inspired to be creative and to write their own stories. Children learned about the rhythm of language and about musical composition. Participants recorded their own music and received copies of the CD created. Additional copies of the CD were added to the library's collection.
