Proposed Measurable Outcome(s)

Participating children will receive a positive reading message and information on the library and its services. The library will build partnerships with local community groups and schools.

Measurable Outcome(s)

700 first-graders received information on the library and a promotional pencil, and engaged in a musical performance promoting reading and stories as part of Shakopee's annual First Grade Reading Get Together. The Shakopee Rotary and Shakopee Public Schools worked together to coordinate the event to get all Shakopee area first-graders excited about reading and learning. The students enjoyed the performance by Jack Pearson, and the community partners appreciated our contributions.
