Proposed Measurable Outcome(s)

Participants will gain a greater understanding of the nature topic of the programs, and make these gains in an enjoyable informal learning setting.

Measurable Outcome(s)

222 kids and adults learned more about amphibians at five storytimes presented by Three Rivers Park District naturalists. Each storytime had a salamander/amphibian theme with a live tiger salamander and corresponding activities and books to expand the learning experience for kids and families. When asked to rate the quality of the event, 28 out of 29 responding to that question rated it 4 or 5 out of 5 (with 1 being "Poor" and 5 being "Excellent"). When responding to " My child's understanding of this nature topic increased due to this program," over 80% gave a 4 or 5 (with 1 being "Strongly Disagree" and 5 being "Strongly Agree." Many of the evaluations had positive comments in response to the question, “What did you/your child like best about the program?”, including this response: “variety of activities, excitement of Mr. Josh, learning new things.”
