Proposed Measurable Outcome(s)

Teens will learn writing techniques and strategies from a published author.

Measurable Outcome(s)

From the hosting librarian: I try to get a different local author each year to facilitate a writers workshop for teens. This year Mary Losure used a variety of writing prompts to get the kids to start a story, develop a character and plot. The teens wrote pretty steadily for the entire program (two hours) and several said how much they appreciated the opportunity to look differently at their writing skills. Mary also was able to look at some of the kids past writing to give critique and positive feedback.
